• Oct 2016 – March 2017: Class 2 Driver at National Food wholesaler
  • Class 2 multidrop driving role delivering chilled and frozen food to all kinds of commercial kitchen.
    • Loading and unloading vehicles via loading docks and tail lifts.
    • Manual handling, including crates, roll cages and manual pallet trucks.
    • Maintaining and monitoring vehicle temperatures.
    • Use of the Microlise telematic system.
• May 2017 – July 2019: Delivery Driver at National Bakery
  • Class 2 multidrop driving role delivering fresh bread to supermarkets and local shops on fixed routes.
    • Loading and unloading vehicles using loading docks, tail lifts and handball.
    • Manual handling, including crates and roll cages.

• July 2019 – September 2022: Class 2 driver at Local General Haulage Company
  • Class 2 driving job delivering and collecting palletised goods both locally and long distance on a curtain side vehicle.

• September 2022 – December 2022: Ad-hoc Agency class 2 driving
  • Various agency and ad hoc class 2 HGV driver roles which utilised a variety of skills developed over the career. Some assignments included:

    • Operation of a concrete mixer
    • Transportation of building site fence panels
    • Transport of materials to an NHS blood donation clinic
    • Delivery of contract furniture to homes.
    • Transportation of construction plant.

December 2011 – Present: Volunteer at local narrow gauge heritage railway

• Train Guard
  • Also known as Conductor, Senior Conductor, Train Manager. I am often the person who is in charge of the safety of the train
• Guard Manager
  • On top of guard duties, I am responsible for managing train guards, including training, assessing and managing competence.
• Permanent Way Assistant
  • Occasionally when I get time I join the track maintenance team and repair the track.
• Hedging Assistant
  • We regularly run special days where a group of us go out to cut back and clear the hedges and vegetation along the line.
• Social Media Marketing Assistant
  • I am one of the administrators for the society’s social media pages. I write and publish posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as answer some customer queries that arrive through that channel
• IT assistant
  • When the IT manager is unavailable I help maintain the railway’s IT systems on their behalf.
• Data Protection Assistant
  • Part of the committee responsible for data protection. We create, implement and maintain the railway’s data protection strategy.

• Category C Driving Licence
  • Allows me to drive rigid bodied vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 7.5 tonnes
• Category C1 Driving Licence
  • Allows me to drive rigid bodies vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes.
• Heavy Goods Vehicle Certificate of Professional Competence
  • Allows me to drive goods vehicles for hire and reward.
